If properly approached, this investigation into alternate realities may create benefits similar to an NDE: not only a lessened fear of death and a refreshed sense of purpose: it may also help you to become more tolerant of others, more compassionate towards yourself, and more joyful in general. If your search for these other selves is undertaken with a sense of ‘ownership,’ that is, the sure sense that, ‘Yes, this is another “me” that I am and I can learn from,’ and keep in mind that this is not a competition between selves but rather your soul sharing you with you, then at the very least you will feel more relaxed about missed chances, mistakes, and even misdeeds.
